About
Zach was appointed to fill a vacant seat in the Washington State House of Representatives in June 2025. Before joining the state legislature, he served for six years on the Issaquah City Council, leading efforts to expand funding for affordable housing, public safety, land conservation, and transportation infrastructure. He also chaired the Eastside Fire & Rescue Board of Directors, ensuring our first responders were equipped with the tools and resources they needed to keep us safe.
Zach now serves as the vice chair of the House Environment & Energy Committee. He also serves on the House Local Government and Transportation Committees. During the 2026 Legislative Session, Zach sponsored nine bills, three of which were signed into law by Governor Ferguson. He focused on protecting funding for State Route 18, lowering energy costs, expanding access to solar energy, funding for road maintenance and local projects, wildfire risk transparency, and salmon recovery.
He previously worked as a legislative assistant in the House and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Washington, including a Master of Public Administration from the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance. A lifelong Issaquah resident, he lives there today with his partner, Tyler, and their dog, Valentine.
